About the Fremont Volleyball Club

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why should we choose club volleyball?
Girls playing club volleyball have an advantage over those who do not. The club provides the player with qualified coaching, practicing, and playing games over a 5-month stretch, which provides the player with a lot of repetition throughout the year.  This is beneficial to players when they enter high school. Club also offers a great social atmosphere in which players will play teams from all over the state, region, and even nation.

How do I figure out what age group to try out/play for?
USA Volleyball sets the age eligibility based on the player's age until July 1st.  So players must be the age or younger until July 1st.  For example, if you are 13 years old or younger and will remain 13 or younger until July 1st. then you would try out/qualify to play for the 13u team.  A 12-year-old that would be turning 13 prior to September 1st would also try out/qualify for the 13u team.

Is the Fremont Volleyball Club open to anyone?
Yes, the Fremont Volleyball Club is open to all girls in Fremont and surrounding areas.

How long is the season?
The season runs from December through April. Throughout these months players will play in 8 tournaments.

The tournament sessions run from about 8:00 am-3:00 pm. Teams will usually play 4-5 games at each tournament. Most tournaments will be in the Omaha/Metro or Lincoln areas.

When and where do we practice?
Practices will be held once or twice a week depending on court availability. Practices will be held at Fremont High School, Fremont Middle School, and Johnson Crossing in Fremont.

What items do players receive?

Players will receive a jersey, backpack, and volleyball. Lost volleyballs will not be replaced. Team T-shirts, sweatshirts, and other apparel will be available to players and parents at an additional cost.

How much does it cost to play?
The Fremont Volleyball Club has one of the lowest club fees in the Omaha/Metro area.
The club fee is $650. The first club payment of $350 is due following the tryout. The second payment of $300, can be paid in a post-dated check for Feb. 1st, and should also be turned in following tryouts.  Club fee costs can be paid in extended installments if needed and must be prearranged. If cost is an issue or concern, please speak with either the club director or administrator. Club fees go towards team uniforms, bags, team equipment, skills clinics, gym rentals, coaches' salaries & reimbursements, insurance, and tournament entry fees.

*Additional fees will be charged to cover extra expenses for teams that compete at the national level.

What do I need to do prior to tryouts?
Prior to tryouts you must become a member of the Great Plains volleyball association.  To become a member you can register at
www.greatplainsvolleyball.org . There is a $70 membership fee.
